I don’t build these often but they are always popular when completed. Great bigger water rod but won’t give your shoulder a work out over a long day. Like many Steffen blanks, the 8’6″ retains that classic crisp feel and airy lightness found in few other glass blanks. These blanks are worth the wait. This features a 6.5″ full wells grip, turned a bit slimmer to the front than the rear making for a nice feel in hand. Kind of reverse 1/2 wells… with a flare. Stained and stabilized maple burl has to been seen in person to be appreciated. The polished aluminum hardware comes from Lemke however I have added a few additions to increase the wow factor including a modified retention ring, brass/aluminum butt cap, and brass cap pin. All other hardware is polished aluminum or brass making for a nice bi-metal look. Wraps are dark brown w/ light green/blue at the ferrules w/ brown tips. Finally set off w/ a green matching agate. Includes brass capped tube and shop-sewn bag.
