It’s been awhile since I’ve finished a graphite but when the opportunity to finally have a chance to build out an Epic Carbon rod arose I had to take it.  Honestly, I don’t have much experience in the modern graphite game but I can say this rod is astonishingly light in hand and casts a line effortlessly.  I don’t have a rod like this in my arsenal and I’m soooo tempted to stash this one away… The rod features a 6″ full wells grip… just the right “meat” to fit perfectly in a medium sized hand.  The seat is a “blued” anondized aluminum uplocker with a stained curly maple insert.  The butt cap is custom machined brass to add a touch of detail where it’s needed.  The rod is wrapped in a blue silk… not too light, not too dark… just right.  Ferrules are tipped in a color preserved golden silk with a few winds of bright blue at the grip.  I personally love the look of this and it almost makes want to do some more graphite builds if there’s interest.  Rod is housed in an Epic Katana-style (friction fit) tube w/ Epic sock.
